Ready to use, plus 2ppm Leaded Glaze brush on glaze.
These glazes contain fritted lead and may yeild in excess of 2 parts per million (+2ppm) of soluable lead under certain conitions of application and firing. These glazes should NOT be use on food and beverage contact surfaces.
1000 - 1040°C
Cesco cadmium glazes should be fired between 1000°C and 1040° C in an oxidising atmosphere. When using different glazes inside and outside your ware, cracking of your pot may occur unless you use:
Cesco Cadmium Glazes on both surfaces or
Cesco Cadmium Glaze on one surface and Cesco lead containing glaze on the other surface or
Cesco Cadmium Glaze on one surface and Cesco leadless clear glaze 5381A on the other surface.
For domestic table ware we recommend alternative (c) using leadless clear glaze on the inside surface that is subject to contact with food or beverage and on that part of the outside surface that may make lip contact (i.e. drinking vessels etc.). Cadmium glaze may be used on the remainder of the outside surfaces.
The colours are brilliant and the glaze finish is glossy and free of pin-holing. The range of colours includes the following, for either dipping (powder) or brushing application (brush-on).
