Product Number: Disposable Polypropylene Overalls - White
The Deco range of Underglazes is designed to give successful results over a wide range of firing temperatures from low fired earthenware to stoneware. At lower temperatures the colours are more opaque and pastel, changing in intensity as the temperature increases.
Whilst optimum results are achieved in the 1150-1240°C range, most of the colours are stable through to 1280°C. Owing to the fugitive nature of chrome-tin pink stains however, the colours containing this base (DU08-DU12 &33) are the exceptions and are not as reliable at this temperature.
Faster firing to a slightly lower temperature with a half hour soak can improve the survival rate of these colours. At all temperatures a soak of 20 minutes is recommended to clarify the glaze, especially over the darker colours.
1000 - 1040°C
Cesco cadmium glazes should be fired between 1000°C and 1040° C in an oxidising atmosphere. When using different glazes inside and outside your ware, cracking of your pot may occur unless you use:
Cesco Cadmium Glazes on both surfaces or
Cesco Cadmium Glaze on one surface and Cesco lead containing glaze on the other surface or
Cesco Cadmium Glaze on one surface and Cesco leadless clear glaze 5381A on the other surface.
For domestic table ware we recommend alternative (c) using leadless clear glaze on the inside surface that is subject to contact with food or beverage and on that part of the outside surface that may make lip contact (i.e. drinking vessels etc.). Cadmium glaze may be used on the remainder of the outside surfaces.
The colours are brilliant and the glaze finish is glossy and free of pin-holing. The range of colours includes the following, for either dipping (powder) or brushing application (brush-on).
