Double ended fine loop sgrafitto tool for pottery
Scratch the surface of stunning ceramic designs with fine and precise sgraffito tools.
Sgraffito (Italian word ‘to scratch’) is a surface decorating technique in pottery that is produced by applying one or more layers of colour (underglaze, slip or engobes) on to leather hard clay, then scratching and carving patterns, textures and illustrations to reveal the contrasting colour of the clay underneath.
Creativity and artistry
This tool with a different fine loop on each end will enable you to create fine and precise incised and carved images on the surface of your leather hard pots, adding more dimension and vibrancy to your pottery. Also useful for carving dry clay and plaster.
Fine and detailed carvings
This tool has 2 distinct loops - one is a deeper, V channel and the other is a rounded loop. You'll find them perfect for carving and incising detailed fine lines through your clay surface, or through glazes applied to bisqueware. Each loop will create a distinct shape of your carved lines.
Ergonomic design
The polished hardwood handle makes this tool comfortable and enjoyable to use.
