This is a white raku clay mixed with a large amount fine grog. It’s a wonderfully versatile general purpose clay for a range of applications including wheel throwing, hand and slab building, coiling. This clay body burnishes well due to its fine clay base and retains excellent plasticity making it suitable for larger work.
Suitable for raku firing, as well as a broad firing range from 1000C to 1300C.
Fires to a chalky white, light grey in oxidation and a speckled grey in reduction. Second image shows a test tile fired to Cone 6 in oxidation. Colour will darken slightly at higher temperatures.
