Mid fire Floating Glaze
Floating Glazes are glossy, reactive glazes designed to create the appearance of one colour floating over another. They produce a range of surprising and beautiful effects, making each fired piece unique.
As with other reactive glazes, the final appearance can vary depending on firing temperature, glaze thickness and the clay body used. Floating Glazes can produce stunning results on a variety of clay bodies, from white and buff through to red and black. Firing at different temperatures, such as Cone 5 or Cone 6, can also create interesting variations in the finished surface.
