This is Walker’s standard white earthenware – midfire body – suits all earthenware and midfire glazes. Fires to vitrification at 1250oC.
Mesh size is 80#. Recommended bisque fire 1000° C to 1060° C, earthenware glaze fire 1080° C to 1130° C and mid-fire glaze fire 1225° C to 1250°.
Shrinkage:
Wet to dry 2.3% ± 0.5%
Dry to bisque 0.2% ± 0.2%
Bisque to glaze 1.0% ± 0.5% at 1100°C
Bisque to glaze 5.0% ± 0.5% at 1250°C
Water absorption:
Biscuit 1000° C Orton Cone 06 14%
