This is a white raku clay mixed with fine grog and cellulose fibres. It’s a wonderfully versatile general purpose clay for a range of applications including wheel throwing, hand and slab building, coiling. Great for creating large projects due to the additional green strength provided by the paper. This clay body burnishes well due to its fine clay base.
Suitable for raku firing, as well as a broad firing range from 1000C to 1300C.
Fires to a chalky white, light grey in oxidation and a speckled grey in reduction. Second image shows a test tile fired to Cone 6 in oxidation. Colour will darken slightly at higher temperatures.
