A brown clay with fine texture. Suitable for a range of throwing and handbuilding applications. Firing buff with iron specks in oxidation. Much the same as Keane’s popular Stoneware 33 body but for Cone 6/Mid Fire temperatures.
Glaze:
The Keane 33 midfire glaze firing temperature is cone 6 (1222˚). When firing this clay to its desired temperature, you are left with a beautiful buff clay with a splattering of iron specks.
According to the manufacturer, shrinkage is 12% and absorption is 1-1.5% when fired to cone 6.
