A buff coloured clay with a medium to coarse texture. Suitable for handbuilding (especially large wares), sculpting, slab work and tiles. Fires to a creamy pink buff colour in oxidation and warm buff/brown mottled with iron spots in reduction.
A broad range of firing temperatures from 1000 – 1280oC
Mesh size: Mesh 14 – hammer milled
% Shrinkage wet to dry: 4.0
% Shrinkage wet to fired: 4.3 @ 1000oC and 7.4 @ 1300oC
