This is a synthetic blend that closely resembles the naturally formed feldspathic rock that used to be mined in Cornwall UK. It consists of feldspar, silica, kaolin and small amounts of mica and other minerals.
Used in clay bodies to add strength during firing and helps with vitrification. In glazes it acts as a flux to lower the melting point and improve flow. Also contributes to glaze hardness and durability.
